Pickguard static removal....
On my new Gretsch guitar, I would get a scratch sound every time I touch the pickguard. It was getting to be annoying and I certainly couldn't have that noise on my recordings. I was thinking of removing the pickguard or even replacing it with a wood guard....Then I started thinking about it and it sounded like static....static and plastic go together like peanut butter and jelly. I learned this years ago when I worked in a plastics shop. So what's a good thing to remove static from a plastic pickguard ?? How about a dryer sheet ?? They remove static from cloths don't they ?? So I tried rubbing a dryer sheet on the plastic pickguard for about a minute, and "poof" the static noise problem is gone !!!!

dryer sheets work for a short time...being a strat enthusiast...all my e-gits have had the full treatment...adhesive copper foil to cavity and p-guard, solder, bridge ground and ground to the jack. Which has basically ended all types of gremlins. Its a very easy diy
