Default Best ELECTRIC guitar?

Okay, we all know we love acoustics, but what is the best electric guitar you've ever heard/played? Me, 'heard played a Gibson Les Paul by EC, played myself? A fender strat with upgraded bridge pickup, blue in colour, blue in tone.

Oh man... are you opening a can of worms!!!

Personally, I'd never be able to choose between my Strats, much less one guitar versus the other brands.

At the risk of correcting myself before I even finish writing this... here goes nothing.

2001 American Deluxe Strat, teal blue transparent with maple fretboard, Vintage Noiseless pickups...

On the other hand, I have a 2000 USA Hamer 25th anniversary series Vanguard with dual P90's...

But in the 'bang for the buck" category, Danelectro Hodad for under $150...

Dang you!!!!!!!!!

I love my 1997 American Standard Strat.
Sunburst, I thew in some Texas Specials. Awesome. But the reason it is the best, is because I got it as New Old Stock 9 months ago for under $410.00, still had plastic on the pickguard and not a ding, scratch on it... WOW I'll take that any day!

So many style, so many types, so little time. I've spent 25 years playing a Les Paul Standard. It's been loyal so I must. But favorite? At least it's the one I'd carry out of the flaming house first...

strat....I've got an LP, but too darn heavy, with less sound....I've got a semi-hollow body, but my new strat (american HT) is the one that gets out of the case to hang out with the Taylors.

Until recently, the only guitar that has stirred me was my 1997 American Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster. BUT, I got a 2002 PRS Custom22 10Top just recently and that guitar has "loved me up"...hehe. It is now my #1 and I can see what all the hoopla is about.

That is a loaded guestion. I'm a Fender man, so I feel Strats and Teles are the best guitars. But, to each their own. Until about four months ago, my original vintage '58 Fender Strat was the best electric guitar I've ever played. Sold it on ebay about four months ago and bought the gear you see listed below (except for the Ibanez), plus some other things. What replaced it makes me very happy, and I don't regret it a bit. There's something to be said for new Fender (and Taylor) guitars.

What do I know? I have a Fender MIM Tele std. and Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. People have been known to "bag" these 2 guitars, i.e. Fender American guitars and Gibson's Les Paul Standards or Customs are the best.
Personally, I don't believe in the "Best..."

Depends on the mood. Personally, I played a Gibson Herb Ellis ES-165 (Hollowbody) a few months back that immediately made me think impure thoughts!!! What a honey!

On the Solidbody side, nothing beats an LP with the fast '60 neck and a pair of PAF's. Then again, nothing beats the clean sound of an American Standard Strat in the bridge/middle position, playing clean through a Twin amp! I drool everytime I think about that!

Of course, there's also a Guild Bluesbird...

So many great guitars, so little time!!!
