There are worse ways to spend 45 minutes...

I was at that show. Interesting that the video sounds so good, because the sound in the arena was absolutely terrible. I was sitting on the floor about 10 rows behind the sound board, and I could barely make out what they were playing.

At your suggestion, put it up on the TV. Great show. I was 17 when that was recorded. The Eagles were the playlist of my youth. My daughter was amazed I knew every song by heart.

Some mornings I can’t remember my name, but lyrics from 40 yrs ago, no problem.

I think “The Bald Eagles” would be a great name for an oldies tribute/cover band.

Right up there with “Pink Fraud” and “The Elderly Brothers”

That was fantastic. Most bands sound nothing like their records when played live. The Eagles sounded just perfect.

Seems to me that comment cuts both ways. Some bands got criticized for sounding too much like their records. I remember Credence Clearwater Revival in getting skewered. People would say, "why see them live when they just sound like a record?"

Oh, yeah the greatest band ever in its second iteration. I've noticed that no matter how the voices are changed with different members, it always sounds like the Eagles. I see two common denominators: The presence of Henley's voice, and the practice of constant drilling and striving for perfection.

It's also interesting to note that Timothy B. Schmidt declined to do "Take it to the Limit," as he felt it was Randy's song. A wise choice, I believe, on Tim's part. I am a huge Timothy B fan, but I believe that neither he nor anyone else could match Randy on this song. Not even the great Vince Gill can come close.

By the way, expect that video to be snatched off YouTube in microseconds. This is the concert video included in the History of the Eagles set. The Eagles' manager, Irv Azoff is known to be the most aggressive protector of copyrights in the business, and rightly so. Glen said, "He's the devil, but he's our devil."
