2008 John Mayes MJ-55
Indian rosewood / cedar
$3195

These two MJ-55's are my first guitars by John Mayes in the shop, and I hope I get more! They both just knocked my socks off. They're open, airy, and dynamic, with a ton of response. This cedar model is just a tiny bit more rounded, with more color than the Adirondack model. Comes with original hardshell case.

The Adirondack model has slightly more headroom and volume, and it lends to strumming just a little more than the cedar model. Comes with original hardshell case.

2016 Lowden O-25
Indian rosewood / cedar
$3400

I always love having Lowdens in the shop, and this O-25 is a great example of the Lowden sound. It's direct and pure, with a relatively simple fundamental. Very crisp and clean sound. I like how the cedar softens the tone just a bit, while the larger O body keeps the headroom and response at the forefront. Comes with original hardshell case.

2015 Pat Foster 0000
Indian rosewood / German spruce
$2995

I hadn't heard of Pat Foster before receiving this guitar on consignment, but I'm glad that's changed! These guitars hold their own with anything in the mid-level boutique range, and for a reasonable price from an upcoming luthier. This 0000/M model has the range and dynamics of a jumbo while retaining the focus and clarity of an OM. Nice attention to detail, too - including a beautiful varnish finish. Comes with original hardshell case.

2015 Pat Foster 0000
Indian rosewood / Adirondack
$2995

I'm glad a consignment customer introduced me to Pat's guitars. These fly under the radar, as Pat is still an up-and-coming luthier. But they represent a great value for the money, as they will compete with anything in the mid-level boutique world. I love the Adirondack with the varnish finish. As with the other 0000 in the shop, it has plenty of power while still staying focused and balanced. Comes with original hardshell case.

2010 Ken Franklin Concert
Indian rosewood / Carpathian spruce
$2995

I've been wanting to try a Ken Franklin for a long time, and I finally got my chance! Boy oh boy, I didn't know what I was missing. Ken's guitars are really something special. It has that dynamic, snappy response that instantly puts a grin on your face, and soon you'll never want to leave your guitar room. Beautiful and unique aesthetic, too - Ken is a master. Comes with Ameritage case.

2010 Ken Franklin Concert
Indian rosewood / Cedar
$2995

I'm very fortunate that a consignment customer sent me these two Ken Franklin guitars - I've been wanting to try one of Ken's instruments for a long time now. I didn't know what I was missing! This cedar model has a bit more color and complexity, and it has that softer "snap" that you only get with cedar tops. I love his aesthetic - it's very unique. Comes with Ameritage case.

2005 Santa Cruz Tony Rice
Indian rosewood / Sitka spruce
$3395

Here we have a killer dreadnought from Santa Cruz. I don't think I could mention the words "thumpy" and "tight" enough in this listing - this guitar's bass lines will have your whole upper body vibrating. You normally don't get this much clarity and focus from a dread, but SCGC has done it somehow. Plays great with a recent neck reset, with healthy geometry. Comes with original hardshell case.

2016 Bashkin Belleza
Koa / Sitka spruce
$5495

Michael's guitars are perhaps my favorite modern build, and I'm always grinning ear to ear when I pull one of his creations out of the case. This is a delightful example in koa and Sitka, with a 12-fret grand concert body that keeps it focused and balanced. It's one of those rare guitars where the notes seem to instantly bloom into the whole room, with no delay. I had to keep backing away from my microphone since it was being overwhelmed by the response! Current replacement cost is $8250. Comes with nice SKB case.

2010 Franklin OM-28
EIR / European spruce
$5995

This is my first Franklin in the shop, and I sincerely hope there will be more. This guitar has "it" - that elusive magic that we're looking for when we talk about pre-war voiced replica guitars. It's that snappy sparkle in the reverb and the dry presence associated with it. Wonderful snap in the tactile response, too. And just look at that top - the Euro spruce with the Herringbone trim. It's sublime in person, and the photos don't really do it justice. These Franklins by Nick Kukich are difficult to come by, so grab it while you have the chance! Comes with original hardshell case.

2010 Lowden F35
Cocobolo / Bear claw Sitka spruce
$3995

You gotta love the Lowden F body. It's big enough to have some real power and headroom, but it still retains razor-sharp focus for fingerstyle. Love the cocobolo on this one - lots of figuring and character. Nice bear claw on the Sitka top, too! Plays great. Comes with original Hiscox case.

2016 Lowden S35m
Fiddleback Honduran mahogany
$4500

The amount of sound that this S body Lowden puts out will shock you. It's the most precise guitar I've played in a long time - every note is extremely defined and well-shaped. Plays like a dream too. And just look at that fiddleback Honduran mahogany. The pictures just don't do it justice. Comes with original Hiscox case.

2016 Huss & Dalton T-0014 Custom
Sinker mahogany / Sinker redwood
$3995

So let's address the elephant in the room - just look at the sinker redwood top on this guitar. The mineral streaking is out of this world. It's just drool-enducing. Lots of tonal character from this one - it's a mellow blues box for sure. Love the comfort of the short-scale neck. Comes with original hardshell case.

2013 Martin OM-28V
Indian rosewood / Sitka spruce
$2495

I absolutely love these Vintage Series guitars from Martin, since they represent some of the best value you can find in a used guitar. The OM-28V has been discontinued (for some crazy reason!), so they're getting a little harder to find, just like the OM-28 Marquis. This one plays fantastic and has that warm, woody Martin tone that we all love. Comes with original hardshell case.
