Default K&K...Resonator...?

Well, it's time to for my brother to fly back home to Berlin. As a 'good-bye present', my boys and I got him a Fender FR50 resonator guitar, which, I might add, is a fine instrument for the price.
Anyway, here is my question, what about a pickup for a resonator ? I thought of a K&K, but where would you install it ? I don't want to get him a pickup which sounds too electric.
Any advise would be helpful !

I installed a Fishman pickup on one of mine. It fits on the center - bottome of the cone. It works great. They are for both spider and biscuit bridges.

I have a McIntyre leaf pickup on my triolian. http://www.mcintyrepickups.com/pickups.html A preamp is recommended, but it does okay without. It gives a pretty true sound. Give Carl McIntyre a call, or an email - he's a great guy to work with!

+1 on the fishman. the transducer just looks like a thick washer on a wire, if I recall, goes in the center of the cone with the screw fitting through it. I have been told it sounds great from "out there"
