So the question is "have you ever gassed for an electric guitar?"
For me the answer is ,, NO! never!
Dont know why,,,Ive owned them when i had to play out,
but sold them as soon as the job was over...
I like a good jazz or electric guitar,, but never obsessed over them.

Well, hrm. After this

and this

and this

and some more, you'd think I'd be done....and that's mostly true. The first Gretsch, a Hot Rod 6120, (I've got a Duo Jet with Dynasonics as well) gets probably 90% of my electric playing time. The others fill niches that the Gretsch can't, or I just like the individual guitar.

OTOH, I'm selling off all my wood or carbon fiber acoustics except my Collings CJMhA, and I'm set to get a C10G with a deep body...and then I suspect my acoustic gas will be done. For flat tops. Resonators are another story. I need a round neck tricone, see.

It is a never ending battle of will-- GAS versus rationality.

I've been GAS'ing for acoustics all over the place.
The most recent GAS I had wasn't GAS but BAS since I want a banjo (5-string resonator) and have had MAS too, but I have that mandolin now!

Lately (past few months) I've GAS'ed on-and-off for various electrics, sometimeas an LP, sometimes a Tele, sometimes something I don't even care what it is as long as it has humbuckers that let you split the coils in order to change between HB and SC... heck, I'd even wanted an LP Junior with the single pick-up. A little more 'out there' though - a traditional Jazzmaster with the two P90-style pick-ups and the selectable pick-up controls. Oh, and I've wanted a Steinberger ZT3 as well, with the awesome tremolo system they have (TransTrem?).

Most recently? Well, I would really love a Telecaster with a B-bender!

I have no idea what I will settle on, though.

I have a Fender Telecaster with a B bender.... be careful or you'll end up doing what I did...buying a 10 string pedal steel guitar.

I have 21 electrics hanging up in my guitar room (Gibson Les Pauls, American Fender Strats, etc...) so I don't have any more electric GAS ... the past couple of years I've been on the acoustic GAS though.

I love a nice electric but I never have the money for anything.
My wife bought me Fender Stratocaster VG for my birthday a couple years ago and love it.
Before that I had a Squier Strat Pro Tone Series which I bought myself for my first guitar when I was about 13, and still have it.

Right now, I would love a nice hollow body Gibson or a 335. That's about all I would care to have. The strat is my favourite.

When I was forty bought this instead of a red sports car. Got it used when they still put adds in the paper. In electrics you are either a Feender (not misspelled) person or a Gibson person. You know where I fall. This guitar lets me be Neil Young for a hour.

I guess that's what I've decided to do. Sold my Blues Jr. amp and play the Tele through a G-DEC 30 "Blues" model....

Hey Doubleneck - I love it! There's something special about a Gibson Les Paul. Great pic!

Disagree. I love both my SG and my Strat... and I'm seeking a Firebird and a Tele.
