One of those shows, I like it but I don't and I finished it anyway.

Probably true but "come on" it is typical Hollywood entertainment not reality. The reality where usually the most "action" might be the occasional bar fight probably after the fact. I'm not sure anyone would actually watch a TV show where the deputy sheriff cruises the highway or parks on the side of the road for hours and gives one speeding ticket.

Henry Standing Bear (played by Lou Diamond Phillips) is quite different in the books, for instance, but the show captures the spirit of the books very well.
Craig Johnson is a great writer and the books are excellent.

Good show. Caught up through season 2. Waiting for Season 3 to hit Netflix as I usually get through a season pretty quickly.

Well, we've seen every episode, with the Season 3 finale coming up, and my wife & I are frustrated because they never resolve ANYTHING in these shows. There are several loose threads that drag on from episode to episode. I know it's the template for dramas these days, but it still bugs me.

And I know they're going to end Season 3 with several cliffhangers. With none of the old issues resolved.

I'm done whining for now. Thank you for listening.

There are three levels at work, the weekly plot, the season plot, and the series plot. They do have resolution on the weekly plot on almost every show. The season and series plots are to maintain interest and create a framework for the characters.

I agree its not like older series. You could watch any random episode of "Columbo" without missing anything. I like the newer format as it creates some additional involvement with the stories and when they have a weaker plot for a single episode, the season and series elements keep it interesting.

I dunno, maybe it's just me. I like a nice, neat resolution after each show. Probably comes from watching all the British crime shows - Sherlock, Poirot, etc.

But I have seen all the Longmire's, so I haven't given up.

But if this next episode is a season ending cliffhanger...
