Not to add to your to do list but I'd bet there might be some forum folks (me for example) who might like to drop a few $$ in the donation bucket. Any mechanism to do that?
I don't know right now but I'll ask if there are any other ways for them to take donations from folks outside of being at the benefit. Good question, thanks for asking, I'll get back........

Thanks Eric.

This place isn't set up for me to try and mike a guitar, it's going to be packed and probably loud. That's why I always have one acoustic/electric (GPCPA1), my favorites have to stay home this time.

I will try to get some videos recorded to post, been a while and I'm not getting any younger......

The dreaded Paypal does have a "Send Gift" option, which is,( I think), free to use. People would need another Paypal acc. to send donations to.

They do. However, my understanding is that soliciting for charitable causes here isn't allowed. Though one can ask the mods about getting an exception made.

Rich... ANY show with Texas songwriters would be incomplete without both Lyle Lovett and (most importantly) Willis Alan Ramsey!!!

"Northeast Texas Women" would be a great tune to get folks moving a bit...

Have fun! Sounds like a really good cause... you will do a great job, I'm sure...

I'm not sure how well-known this song is, but it's a Larry Joe Taylor song, I believe. But I love the cover that Brian Burns does:

And both Larry Joe and Brian are songwriters here in Texas.

Hi Rich,
I'm glad the suits went all in on the idea. You'll play like a champ, I know. Wish I were in the neighborhood.

It's certainly a worthy cause, wish I could make it. However, it's a bit far from Mineral Wells, and I'm certain it'll run past my 73 year old bedtime.

Wow, too bad this wasn't over the past week, I was just in dfw for a class, and could've made it any night this week.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the words of support to all !!

Out of 63 songs I can perform got my night's list down to 28 songs I think appropriate for a benefit (up tempo, hits from their decade), and, with raffles and prize giveaway breaks, that should be more than enough for the evening.

If you're local and stop by please introduce yourself, its good cause, some of the raffle prizes are actually pretty nice.

The evening will be videotaped so I'll post something down the road so you can see an old AGFer "in action"...

Back to practice.........
