Smile Voyage-Aire VAOM-04 OM. SOLD AGF THANKS

Voyage-Aire VAOM-04 very cool folding travel guitar.

SOLD AGF (on Reverb). Play on friends!!!

I recently swapped the plastic saddle in the pics for an old Tusq, restrung with Elixir HD Light PBs and replaced the plastic pins with Honduran Rosewood. It sounds even better, as one would expect!

Originally purchased directly from Harvey Leach the creator of Voyage-Aire.
I am the second owner.
Bought from a fine AGF member. (On Reverb, haha)
Perfect condition. Plays great. Amazingly loud and resonant.
The folding neck works wonderfully and really does come back up VERY close to in tune!
Selling with the original Voyage Air backpack which is super cool and works GREAT
K&K Mini installed. Works and sounds great!

AGF price: $425 net to me.

Reverb listing:
https://reverb.com/item/7282039-voya...e-va-04-recent

Love the guitar but the medium neck is a bit much for my small old hands. Sigh...
And I am not traveling much, so it needs a good home.
Original owner had Harvey swap out the black pick guard for a nicer traditional tortoise one.

• Traditional 'OM-Style' Body Shape
• Solid Spruce Top w/ X-brace
• Inlaid Soundhole Rosette
• Single-ply top and back binding
• Mahogany (laminate) Back and Sides
• Mahogany Neck w/ Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge
• Dot Inlay in Prewar-style staggered sizes
• Compensated saddle.
• Proprietary Voyage-Air Captured Nut
• Patented Folding Neck-Hinge System. Works amazingly well!
• 25.5” Scale Length
• Traditional 1 3/4” Nut width
• Chrome plated die-cast tuners
• Protective High-Gloss finish
• Phosphor Bronze strings
• Includes stock, well padded and clever Carrying Case, in excellent condition.
• Thoroughly inspected & set-up, In the USA, I believe by Harvey Leach himself.

From the former owner:
"Everything is stock. And there are no scratches, dings, dents and certainly no cracks or unmentioned repairs. K&K pickups don't make noise as they are passive and currently (always) working perfectly.
I just got back from playing two weeks in Mexico, and you could take it to the studio and/or on the road immediately upon receipt. These are exceptional guitars designed by the very well known Harvey Leach who does a great deal of Martin's top-end inlay and work. It would be called Mint but no played guitar is mint as there are light pick-guard scratches. Nothing is needed. That said, I have a strong attack and don't have my guitar's action set as low as some. You might prefer it lower or just as it is - I can't guess on your personal taste. Saddle string spacing is approximately 2.25"
The tuners are not named so they can be anything but work perfectly. Nut and saddle aren't specified but likely Corian. I would call the neck a soft C or low-oval depending on what guitar line experience you have. Very comfortable and fast neck."

I agree with all this but would call the neck a soft C or MEDIUM oval. And I measured string spacing at 2.24"

Pleased to get the pics up via the AGF app. Sorry it makes the writing smaller!

Will be pro packed and shipped insured adult signature required.

these are such good guitars-and its rare to see one for sale. I always kept mine folded out and on a stand, they sound better than most that sell for 3x more.

this will not last long
best of luck with the sale

Default Awesome Deal

I agree with Daryl, these are outstanding guitars that just happen to fold in half.
I own 2 of them, otherwise I'd be all over this, someone is going to be very happy with this deal.

I use my Voyage-Air OM-04 all the time. I take it on work trips, I take it to jams where I expect things to be crowded. I think it sounds great, much better than nearly everything I've encountered at its price point, even if it didn't fold. And then, on top of that, it folds. And amazingly, needs very little tweaking after unfolding to be in tune -- if it's in tune when I fold it up, and if I stretch the strings a bit after putting them under tension, it's incredibly close to being in tune. These are great guitars.

Thumbs up

Voyage Air makes great guitars! (have owned two) Paul is a great seller, and if you buy from him, you gain a friend as well.

Great deal here!

Concur as well. I have a VAD-1 and take it on the road with me all the time. This should sell quickly since the factory is out of stock.

I could be seriously tempted by this. Only thing that puts me off is what you are saying about the neck. Width not a problem , I prefer 1.75. But not sure about the shape. I'm used to Taylor necks. They are very comfortable for my small hands. How does this neck compare to Taylor? No arthritis or other issues, but am a petite female.

You should. Play great, sound great, not a chunky neck at all.

Smile Neck...

Good question Jeanray. I find the neck to be pretty similar to a NT (post 2000) Taylor at the Nut. However it is a little more deep up by the body.

If I was traveling a lot by plane I would keep her and do a bit of a neck shave, but I am not...

Also, I am often playing hour long sets, so I can not walk away and rest my hand.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Josh, for the props. It does play and sound really good!

Cheers

Paul

Yes, Im a big fan of VoyageAir guitars.

I currently have an 02 and 06,
but previously had an 04, another 06 and a Premium Rosewood model.

I will always have at least one around.
