2004 Martin D-45 Marquis Prototype
Very special D-45 here. I am the original owner, having bought this at the auction Martin held at Christie's in 2008, to benefit the company's charitable foundation.
It is number 2 of 3 prototypes built for the D-45 Marquis model production run. These are built by Martin's most experienced craftspeople, as they must conform as perfectly as possible to the model's specifications, with top materials, etc. It is identical to the Golden Era D-45, with the exception that the back/sides are East Indian rosewood, not Brazilian. The top is Adi. I have taken beautiful care of it since new. It has been played regularly, so is not mint, but rather in exceptional used condition--just a wonderful guitar in all respects. I'm happy to answer any and all questions about it. I'm asking $7500, including air shipping. Any method of payment is fine, so long as we both agree.
