Default Zoom H2n placement

Our little band just bought a Zoom H2n recorder for use during our practice sessions. We consist of 2 guitars, 2 singers, 1 bass and 1 accordion. We usually sit in a circle with individual amps (no amp for the accordion).

I'm thinking about setting the H2n on a stand in the middle of the circle and set it for 4 channel to get surround sound and then adjusting the mix in the computer"s software.

Has anyone tried this? Is there a better way?

Thanks in advance,
paulin

Set it for surround, internally mixed to stereo. Set it with a limiter (concert). It'll be fine, we do it all the time.
