Default NGD Kraut 12 fret Mod D

Finally after almost 2 years of waiting... I received my Kraut 12 fret Mod D.

This guitar is part of my 4 seasons project, 4 guitars from builders who underwent apprenticeship with Ervin Somogyi... It was around 4 years ago in Tokyo and Osaka where I first held a Somogyi guitar, I was amazed and could'nt believe an acoustic guitar can sound that good, its voice very unique... 3 years ago, I purchased my first Somogyi and the year after another one... My amazement of his work continued to his former apprentices.

Guitar features

Modified Dreadnought, 12 fret, slotted headstock
German Spuce top
Brazilian Rosewood back and sides
Mahogany neck
Ebony bridge and fret board
Alessi tuners

My first impression.... the guitar is ultra light weight. Upon inspection, fit and finish is top notch. Ray Kraut is among the best w/ regards to craftsmanship. The guitar has that big rambling bass, very open sounding for a new guitar... It has lots of energy, the vibrations are chest rattling... very responsive... Im very happy w/ this custom build... BTW, this is the winter themed guitar

Beautiful instrument. I'm very interested in the asymmetrical sound hole. Was that purely an aesthetic choice or does it involve some unusual bracing? I think the geometry compliments the cutaway nicely - I like it.

Congratulations! Extremely nice.

What's your impression of the Alessi tuners? One of my guitars, which has Alessi's, was on consignment and was recently shipped back to me. I had forgotten how much better I like them compared to tuners on my other guitars.
