We ended up stringing it with EXP 23's, per Eric's request. Tuning was B E A D F# B. If it were up to me, I would like to have used the following gauges: .016, .024, .035, .045, .056, .065. I'll try it on the next one though.

Thanks Again.

have a sad report. This baritone might have ruined my life its that good!

Tuned b to b, and might not be a "true baritone", but man, does this baritone guitar sing and ring. I thought my cathedral had great bass. Of course with different strings and longer scale, this would be obvious that the baritone would have more bass, but wow!

It does bring a different dimension to playing, but the hardest thing is, you can't put it down! the second hardest thing is, it make my other guitars sound thin. is that even possible? Think about a top notch Olson or Ryan or other great handmade guitar. then think bigger (not necessarily louder) sound, more open, more sustain, deeper, more resonant, the list goes on and on.

This truly frightens me..... because i do have another Mod-D coming in Oct!

Eric, I found the same thing with my Paragon baritone. I find myself searching through my papers for songs I used to sing - just to see how they'd sound with the baritone! And even some which I still can sing "high", I find that singing them "low" brings a relaxed and totally different color to the song.

I have mine tuned B/B as well - I find that a useful tuning that is somewhat easily coordinated with my friends' playing E/E, and with a capo up two it covers the range I need. The Shubb deluxe 12 string capo works great on my slightly wider fretboard, by the way - I recommend it.

Best,

Phil

Thought I'd give you all an update. 6 months later and the baritone is still amazing. Amazes me each time I play her! Has opened up tremendously and rings and rings and rings!
