Guild to Reissue the Starfire VI
Hey, gang! I just found out that Guild is reissuing its Starfire VI series of semi-hollow electric guitars. The Starfire VI is the top of the Starfire line, so its a bit pricey, but it will do everything a Gibson ES-345 will do at about $1000 less. I cried when Fender acquired Guild and took these guitars off the market because they looked, played and sounded so sweet. Now they're back for a limited run. Electric guitarists owe to themselves to play one!

I had a 1969 Starfire VI 12-string that I still kick myself for letting go of. If the new ones are like the vintage ones this will be a killer guitar.

Good news indeed! I use to have a beautiful Orange Starfire with a Bigsby. I regret selling it.
Do you know where the new ones will be made? JR |

Reissue of a reissue? They were offering Starfires a few years ago.

I had a Guild Starfire III back in the late 1960's. Like a fool, I sold it and have regretted it ever since. Sold my Vox Cambridge reverb amp at the same time. Can't afford to buy them back at today's prices.

Just looked up the new Guild and a couple of places have them in stock and advertising for $3999 ... Nice guitar but Ouch.

I believe that's the list price or the MSRP. You should be able to pick one up for about $500-$1,000 less than that, if you do some shopping. Remember, this is the top of the line Starfire model, so you're paying extra for cosmetic stuff, like gold-plated hardware and the fancy mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays. I, too, wish Guild would reissue the old Starfire III's and Starfire IV's, which were less fancy and less expensive versions of the same guitar.

...but you can but vintage Starfires all day long for 1k to 2k and they'll hold their value
