Default Reverb tank & volume pedal

Hi all. As you know, some amps have reverb with no ability to turn it off and on with a footswitch. Some of these have an RCA jack connection at the front of the reverb tank (where the signal enters). I was wondering, could you insert a volume pedal in at that point? This would allow you to not only control on and off, but also control the amount of reverb. It would not be hard as all you'd need would be an RCA female to 1/4 male and a 1/4 male to RCA male adapters. Problem is, I don't currently have an amp like this, but I am considering one (Traynor YCV80). I like the amp but not that there is no control over the reverb via footswitch. I could wire in an on/off switch, but such mods usually introduce noise when using the switch.

Has anyone tried this?? Are there other ways to go about this??

Thanks.
