Howard,

I can't even to begin to imagine the range of emotions you are going through right now. Thanks goodness you, your wife and pets made it out.

Thank you for taking the time to post here. You seem to have the right attitude at the moment for taking things one day at a time. So much to process.

Wishing you the best.

Nothing can replace the things lost , but I will send you a set of my best to start over with if you would consider using domestic wood .
Just respond with a mailing address and I will make it happen .
If you ask Bruce , I hope that he will assure you of the quality of the wood/s that I harvest .
And if you do not take me up on this offer , I still wish you and yours the best going forward .
Stay safe .

Well said.

Also wishing you the best for whatever you decide to undertake, rebuilding your home, etc.

Howard- I have seen and heard your guitars so I was already impressed with the caliber your work. Now, having read your post on the preceding page, I am even more impressed with the caliber of the man behind the work.

I'm so very, very sorry to hear this news Howard, but I'm also so thankful that you and you're wife are well. You have way too much talent not build again and that gift won't let you rest.

I am relieved to see "Pets" in plural as the semi-feral cat you feed could have been expected to make a run for it.

Best to you and yours Howard, I'm so sorry to hear this. Over here on the East coast it's just 'news' but it really hits home when you read about it and see the pictures of the devastation. There are really no words to describe such destruction. I just can't imagine. To wish you the best and good luck just sounds trite but it's all I got.

So sorry to hear the fire got your property and relieved everybody is safe. I doubt now is the time to think of guitar related projects, just getting the necessities of life that we collect around ourselves to take care of day to day living will be enough of a chore. I am probably assuming correctly that any personal instruments have also been destroyed. Once life returns to something approaching normal maybe if the luthier community wants to help out they can donate a stick of wood or two of wood collecting dust in the back of the wood locker so you or some of them can build you an instrument to play. I am sure if you wanted to you would have no problem finding someone who would lend some bench space or the use of tools. In the mean time time spent with the family is a good way to deal with a change in life's situation, I wish you the best and take care.

Howard,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been impacted by this terrible tragedy. I've admired your work for many years and hope once some time has passed, you'll be able to renew your passion for building. Our community needs people like you.
