I signed up to test drive them for Martin so they sent me a free pack. I have them on my CEO7 and like them very much, and not because they were free. I would have shelled out to try them at least once. Tone is excellent, not as harsh as PB bronze has been imo. The strings are very flexible and comfortable, and bend very easily.

I have read in other posts here on the forum that there are concerns about string breakage if you use them for altered tunings. I have not tried any altered tunings.

You lucky devil.
So, you reckon they're good strings?
It's not available in Australia bah.

$40 for 1 set of strings? Really? Will the guitar play by itself?

For anyone interested, you can read my recent OP as I was fortunate to be chosen a "beta tester".

Too expensive for my pockets I already spend about $400.00 a year on strings, based on the current price I would be spending $2000.00 a year on strings. Tempted to try a set but afraid I may like them, I think the plain strings are stainless steel.

What if the 40 dollar strings lasted a minimum of let's see ...going on four months now. Wait, let me check. (picks up guitar and plays)
Yep, they're still good.

Yes, the plain strings are SS.

Only if the guitar costs more than $5000 and you use a $50 pick.

I'm at 2.5 months and going strong on my first set. And I rarely get more than 2 weeks...maybe 4 with coated strings. To me they sound like a "more alive" version of Monels, if that makes sense. The playability is great as well - they're quite flexible and feel more like lights/extra-lights when fretting but are more like medium-lights tone-wise. I've only tried them on my OO, but really looking forward to trying them on my HD-28 next. I have a large stash of string to go through, but when it's time to purchase a new set, it'll be these.

As I previously posted, I'm asking for another set for Christmas and they're going right back on my Pono SS Dread. I might even by a set before then.

I was lucky that Martin sent me a set to try.
I put them on my guitar on June 5th.
Light playing at home.
They are still sounding excellent.

But like rokdog49 I probably won't buy them at that price but would happily suggest them as possible Birthday or Christmas gifts.

I tried them on my OM. They sounded pretty good I guess. But they lasted less than a month, when the A string core snapped during play. I was pretty surprised, as I've never had any string breakage issues before, and i usually go closer to 2 months before string changes. Needless to say, i wont be buying them again.

Maybe 2 months for me now on my D-28 Marquis. I probably won't replace them with Titaniums. I lost some volume / punch on the bass side. Trebles are fine. I wouldn't say the sound is anything special compared to the SP Lifespans that they replaced. I'll probably go back to Med gauge Martin SP's in the next couple of weeks. Not replacing them because the sound is deteriorating, but because I'm not crazy about their tone.
