Thanks so much for all the great suggestions and options! Maybe I'm in too big a hurry to switch guitars, and simply playing a bunch to see what feel I really like is the way to go. I'm starting to think that the v-neck is the bigger issue and not the nut width because my Silver Creek OM has a 1 3/4" nut and I really like playing that.

Let y'all know what I end up with!

Thanks again!!
Scott

I do like the 000-18 and the Collings OM2h. Looking for something in the mid-2000's as far as price goes.

Eyes wide open!

The Martin 000-18 and D-18 can be bought brand new all day long from most of our AGF sponsors and many other dealers nationwide for under $1900. Used/mint Collings OM2Hs can be bought for $2600ish. Same for Santa Cruz OM/PW.

Collings OMs come in 1 11/16 and 1 3/4 nut widths and 2 3/16" spacing standard. The neck profile on a standard Collings OM is very close to Martin's MLO/PA taper neck in terms of overall thickness. Santa Cruz OM/PW and OM necks meanwhile are a bit thicker overall, and come 1 3/4 nut with 2 3/16" string spacing as standard.

Yeah, if you are sensitive to changing neck profiles and have strong neck shape preferences i would advise to buy nothing without playing it first.

Neck shape is a biggie for me and may be for you as well.

I recently purchased a 2007 Santa Cruz OM/PWM from a seller on Reverb that is in perfect shape, included a Fishman Infinity pickup, and a case (albeit a case that I don't think was the original - I replaced it). Priced less than your target range. 1 3/4" nut, slightly fuller V neck than the Taylors I owned (and sold), fits my small hands and sausage fingers like a glove, very smooth and playable with a low action (adjusted by the original owner's luthier) despite the longer scale, and sounds awesome. You can also get these guitars with rosewood back and sides. I love the guitar, so much fun to play, very comfortable, simple aesthetic, and sounds awesome. I encourage you to check one out as well as Collings OMs (I just ordered a Collings D1 Dread).

I have no affiliation with the seller, but a Bourgeois 00 like this one that is selling for <$2300 might be something to consider.

Funny, I have that Bourgeois on my "watch list" on reverb. I believe my CEO-7 is a 00 size too, but would prefer a 000 or 0000 this time around.

Good call on the Collings, as I'm watching a couple of those too!

As of right now (This seems to change hourly) I'm leaning towards the Martin 000-18 or a Collings Om2. Larrivees seem to be a really great guitar for the money!

I play to the CEO 7 next to a Martin 000-17, and much preferred the 17

Since the OP mentioned the Collings OM2H as being under consideration, here is a good comparison video of it and the OM1A and the Martin OMC-18e (rounded oval neck, btw).

The Waterloo WL models and the CEO-7 really only have the sunburst in common. They are vastly different animals, tone-wise.
