Default Recommendations for a Good Guitar Polish

I have a Collings D2H that has been played quite a bit. Back has dull spots on the finish from being against clothing. I would assume sweat, etc. I would like to hand buff the guitar and just give it a general good cleaning. All the finishes are in tact. Just needs some cleaning and polishing. What would be a good guitar polish to use to bring back luster. I would be doing this by hand and not with a machine. Appreciate any help. Thanks, REV

Check with Collings before using anything on it, but since the DH2 has a Nitro finish, I'd bet you can use naphtha on it, and that stuff will work wonders on the haze.

In terms of a polish, I have used Stew-Mac's Preservation Polish with very good results.

Of course, YMMV.

The Guitar Nomad polish is safe for FP and nitro (and hence, also very safe for any poly finish). It is gentle, but strong enough to actually polish. I apply with a cotton ball. Sometimes I'll add a dab of 3M Imperial Hand Glaze (an automotive product that used to be re-packaged for D'Addario as a guitar polish, but is no longer available from D'Addario). For heavier duty scratch removal, I have another product I use in my workshop. But I'd never hesitate to recommend the two products I mention here.

I've been using the Preservation Polish for a few years now, it's good stuff.

Default Guitar Polish

Thank you for everyone's suggestions. I used the professional strength Guitar Nomad polish to remove the haze and then went over it with their "#1". Then cleaned and oiled the fret board with their fret board oil. Looks awesome!
