Thank you! I think Beekman's arrangement is crafty. Sometimes I like to play it with a capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret, for the brightness it adds.

I like Beekman's Beatles arrangements. And I enjoyed the musicality of your performances. Thank you for sharing them!

Wow, you transported me for a minute there ...really, really sweet. Excellent playing of excellent arrangements.

And I must get these arrangements, I don't know how they have stayed under my radar all these years. Most Beatles arrangements I've seen are either too hard (Takemitsu), or just not good (everything else?).

These are a whole different level -- they kind of remind me of Laurindo Almeida's arrangements of popular songs...

"The Beatles For Classical Guitar" 20 solos arranged by Joe Washington are also good arrangements.

Thank you, GS. Speaking of Laurindo Almeida, he sure did some fine arrangements. Over the Rainbow comes to mind.

I agree. My favorites from that book are Because, If I Fell, and And I Love Her.

"Because" was actually the first clip I ever put on YT. Warning: Low-fi picture and sound ahead, heh.

Gorgeous! I've always wanted to learn "I'll Follow The Sun" and "The Long And Winding Road" has a special place in my heart, one of those songs you remember where you were when you first heard it. It's so interesting that McCartney despised the orchestration that was added to it. Who arranged that one, and is it available for purchase?

Somewhere I have a Beatles for classical guitar book that I've never dug into enough, probably because I like to sing so much. I'll have to dig it out.

Thanks Paul. I remember also when I first heard those songs. I can close my eyes and I'm there. Both are in the book, Beatles for Classical Guitar, arr. by Larry Beekman.

Through this entire thread, with all the videos posted, you (Timothy) do a great service to Larry Beekman's efforts. Your performances really bring these arrangements to life, reviving interest in these wonderful arrangements.

Thanks for posting these videos. If you have more (hint, hint), please do continue posting.

Thanks,

Tony
