I considered the Beyer mic for my home studio because I like Beyer mics in general. They get less attention than other brands but are a solid value. I don't think you can go wrong.

After reading reviews and talking to some folks I wound up getting a Micrtotech-Gefell M300 instead of the Beyer. If memory serves it's a little bit more money. It's sound reminds me of the KM84s we used back when I was on staff in a local recording studio.

Yes, I have a pair of them.

They are great mics and very good value - you will see a lot written about them of Gearslutz. They are in the performance area of Km84s but at a better price.

They are very neutral which means I often have to cut the low mids a bit but use them as distant mics in a good room and you can see why they are so versatile.

Some mics in this area are brighter but I would rather have the neutral sound!

Tried a pair of the mikes. Something about them (can't remember) did not make me want to keep them. Currently mainly use Gefell M295's and also have Gefell M300s. The latter would be great mikes for the price IMO.
