Default "Nuages" - Django Reinhardt - fingerstyle solo guitar

Hi friends of guitar music,
this is my arrangement and interpretation of Django Reinhardt´s famous composition "Nuages". This arrangement I made about
10 years ago - but unfortunately it lastet until these days until I found the time to record and to upload it (and there are still
a number of other arrangements that are waiting to be recorded....)

I hope you like this Django tune when I play it my way.... ;-)))

Gerhard

with Fishman Rare Earth Pickup + other microphones

Hi Gerhard,
Very nice rendition of Nuages!

Smartly played & a very nice recorded sound as well!

I see a magnetic pickup in the soundhole, but I don't believe it is what I'm hearing. What did you use for the recording?

Maple & spruce guitar, but I don't recognize the brand. Medium gauge bronze strings?

Great job!

Howard Emerson

Hi Howard,
as mentioned, this is a Fishman Rare Earth pickup, that also has a little microphone in the body of the guitar. Outside I have an Rode NT5 and AKG C3000 condeser mic. I do a little mixing of the 3 sources, while the rare earth signal is dominant and add a very little amount of reverb. That´s it.

The guitar is a Albert & Müller S2 steelstring, two luthiers from the area of Frankfurt/Germany. Mr. Müller has passed away 2 or 3 years ago. but Mr. Albert still produces extraordinary classical guitars - highly recommended...

Strings: I use Elixir Phosphor Bronze - in my ears, they are the best...

Greetings from Germany
Gerhard

Gerhard,
Thanks for the details!

It has much more air sound than magnetic. Good job!

Hi Howard,
although I am deeply impressed of the sound of the Fishman rare earth, that´s why place additional microphones in front of the guitar to get the sound of that room....

have a nice weekend - Gerhard

Very, very nice sound and playing Gerhard. I've liked that song since the first time I heard Chet Atkins play it when I was very young. It has a kind of haunting, lilting quality that I like.

Wonderful! I've loved that song since first hearing it on Ry Cooder's Jazz album.
