Anybody getting results with usb recording interface?
Anybody using this successfully?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Electri...item2c8d221703 The reason I ask is that I just got a straight cord with a usb driver on the end and a 1/4 jack on the other, and it won't do anything with Audacity on either one of two computers. This is what I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Guitar-Bass-...61999108&rt=nc LED lights up when I plug it in, and it even shows up on the audacity input- just no sound into program then. Anyone have any insight on this- they are giving me a refund, but I'm still hesitant to order the first one I've linked (with headphone return) wondering if that will work- some vendors include a software driver disk and others don't. I REALLY don't trust those with no disk.. I've seen one that said it didn't work with windows 8, nut I also have an older computer with Vista. What I'd really like to plug in is an older keyboard with 1/4" jack headphone output. Anyone used either of these for line level?

In theory, they should work, in reality I wonder if they have an internal preamp strong enough to bump the signal from a non-active-pickup electric guitar to a useable level.

If Audacity is showing a signal, doesn't that suggest there is one - have you triple-checked it's not something else like Audacity is playing sound through the wrong channel (I've done this before)
