Intermittent Static-y Popping Sounds on Mics?
Hi all.
I'm having a problem with an intermittent, static-y popping sound showing up on my mics. It starts about 2.5 seconds into this clip. The mics are a pair of little blondies in stereo. The issue is in the right channel. I had been recording all day just fine. Didn't even notice this until later. But this has happened with all my mics. Is this a power conditioning thing? This is recorded in my old house (1930s), but the power in the room is modern. A mic cable thing? Thanks in advance for any help y'all might offer. This is really driving me nuts. |

I've seen this from my computer and I traced it down to the USB chain. I can't tell you how to get rid of it but I've gotten it to go away by changing the USB port. Sometimes its one the whole chain and it didn't matter.

Oof. That means a new iPad dock. This is an Alesis ioDock, so there's no USB cables anywhere.
Is anyone else using one of these? |

Got a cell phone nearby?
Anything else that transmits or generates? iPad? A Power Company Smart Meter? Regards, Ty Ford |

This is recorded on an iPad. I'm increasingly convinced it's the wifi or LTE. I'm going to try putting it in airplane mode from now on.
