Default How to post DAW window images to the AGF?

I'm new to the world of digital home recording (despite being "officially" an old guy now). I see that some folks are able to share "workstation" images from their DAWs here on the forum as in the thread linked below. My question is twofold, although I realize the initial part may be the clue to the second.
So, how does one retain the image and then post it to forums?
Thanks!

Windows (it will a quite similar process in Mac)
1. Print Screen while your DAW is on the screen
2. Open Paint (or some other photo editor) and paste in the image.
3. Edit picture
4. Save as jpeg file
5. Upload to some online web space (Photo Bucket, etc.)
6. Provide image link in your post

On a Mac, Command-Shift-3 saves a snapshot of the screen to a .PNG on the desktop that you can upload to a photo hosting web space and link to here.

Bob is spot on... BUT there's an extra bonus neat way to do it, too:

Command-Shift-4

Once you press that then the mouse cursor becomes crosshairs... you can either draw around a part of the screen you want to screenshot or, and this is my favourite way to do it, press the space bar. At this point the crosshairs become a camera and as you hover over various windows that window will 'light up'. When you have the window you want to shoot lit up then just click. That way you'll just get a screen shot of the window in question (with a nice drop shadow around it as there was in the screenshot you originally linked to).

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much, Rick, Bob and Martin (it was one of Martin's posts in the thread I linked that initially fuelled the questions). BTW Martin, I really enjoyed both your sound cloud clip and seeing your Logic workspace image of the clip. Very informative too!!!

Next up!!! Inexpensive but effective Acoustic Room Treatment for Recording?

There really is no end to this once one gets started, is there???

There isn't... but as I just said in another thread; just get stuck in, don't get bogged down, don't get tied up all in the weeds. Remember we're supposed to be making stuff and having fun, right? :-)

Sounds like very sage advice!
