That guitar is fantasically gorgeous Llamarebel! If it sounds as good as it looks you have a killer guitar. Liking Emerald's stuff more and more, and I'm really liking their departure from mere guitar building. The Synergy and Amicus are giving some form of non-traditional gas!

If I ever order a guitar straight from Emerald I will have to make the difficult decision of Black or Amber.
Looks great.

Nice guitar. A question about the Opus finish: I understand the texture on the back and sides, gloss on the soundboard - what is the finish on the back of the neck?

The Emerald Crystal Ice finish has gloss on the top/soundboard and gloss on the back of the neck. I have the Crystal Ice finish on my Amber X20, and like it alot !! Regards, Jim K |

As long as I have your ear, do you feel/notice the texture on the back/sides of the guitar? I.E. - does it "grab" your clothes, or do you hear the texture rubbing when amplified? Thanks for the reply! Best wishes, Jim |

My guitar is acoustic only, so I cannot attest to any amplification issues, but a 100% guess, would be that the texture would not create any issues when the guitar is amplified. However, those who do amplify could please comment on that issue. |

Standard spec should be gloss at back of neck. You should be able to request for a satin or non-glossed finish though. If you are using a internal mic system, then yes, there will be noise from rubbing the back and side. This is what I have experienced from my AER15plus equipped T8. But it's not serious, since you always keep a gap from your body and the guitar when playing. |

The Crystal Ice finish is the same polyester finish as featured on the Artisan, but applied using a special technique which gives a slight textured or eggshell appearance. After spraying the texture we then hand-sand and polish the coating to give a very uniform and tactile surface that is both hard-wearing and attractive. This comes as standard on our Opus series guitars (available in black only) and applied to the back, sides and headstock. But often people choose the Crystal Ice finish for our Artisan series due to its hard wearing and ability to resist scratches and fingerprints. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask! Best Wishes, Sean |
