Default Humidity damage

A colleague brought his Martin LX1 to work about 2 years ago to noodle around. Last week he found a single large crack on the soundboard. Since it is a relatively inexpensive guitar I offered to bring it home and glue it. My cheapie humidity gauge said the office was at 10-15% humidity, and that week the temperature here in Minneapolis hovered around -10 to -20 F. I decided to wait until it warmed up a little before I brought it home. In the meantime I brought in a humidifier for the office, which didn’t help much... it raised the humidity 20 to 25%. The guitar was in its gig bag the whole time, and I brought it home two nights ago. I let it sit in my 45% humidity music room for about 24 hours. Yesterday when I took it out of the gig bag, here’s what I found:

Since the guitar’s value is less than $300 new, I doubt the owner will want to bring it to a luthier. I am fairly handy with this sort of work (I enjoy meticulous detail work) and given my tools I am confident I could glue, clamp and cleat this.
That said, my question is, is this as straightforward as it appears? What might I need to consider? I will value your advice and then talk with the owner how to proceed. Thank you in advance!
- Paul

Before doing any work on it, let it stabilize at your chosen humidity level - ideally in the 40 to 45% range.

There will be a variety of at least partially loose braces that will also need to be reglued. Check around the heel block on the interior of the guitar to ensure that parts have not separated from it, particularly the top.

Thank you, Charles. I will inspect the braces, heel block and all around inside before I make my final recommendation.
