Heritage
Just wondering if Heritage ever made a D Angelico repo?

Heard tell that they made a couple prototypes (as did Jim Triggs TMK) when someone was trying to revive the name - never went any further than that, current ones are made by a (unnamed) New York luthier at $19K a pop ; if you're looking for Heritage quality/tone for about one-fourth that price, hunt down a first-run all-acoustic Super Eagle - amazing guitars, and I'm sorry I didn't snap one up at ~$2500 new back in the '80s...

Yes, Heritage did, sometime in the 90s. They only look like D'Angelicos superficially but are Heritage archtops through and through. I have a capture of the price list for the various D'Angelico models. So, they did go into production.
Heritage also made the Gretsch Synchromatic MCSS 6040 before FMIC bought Gretsch over. |
