i think this is a wonderful idea. hopefully it will include ideas about recording audio and video since fran coerced me into getting the kodak zi8!

there are other sites out there that give info on recording but we may as well have one stop shopping, so to speak.

personally, i record via a mic or two(no pickup for me!) into an apogee ensemble, mac g5 running logic 8, onto a la cie firewire drive that i use for recording purposes only.

thanks,
mikeB.

Thanks, J.R.! I suspect this is going to be a valuable addition to the AGF.

Taking bets on how long before this thread appears - What's the best mike for recording guitar ?

Great idea though - I'm interested in finding a good reverb setting.

Hey! What's the best mike for recording a guitar?

OK... I had to do it.

Seriously, I like this new addition to the forum and hope it takes off and benefits all the members.

Great Idea!

Although there are some great sources on the net to learn about recording and the gear associated with it, I'm sure many members will get some great tips here.

Great idea, will definitely be contributing here. I use now an apogee duet, an imac 24, a Shure 58 mike for voice and a audio-technics 4033 for the guitar when I record myself singing.
