Default quarter inch cord question

if i leave my 1/4" cord plugged into my guitar jack ,will it kill the battery inside for the preamp? even though it is plugged into the guitar but nothing on the other end?

Yes it will. There is a switch in the jack that "turns on" when a plug in inserted.

Yes, it will... every pickup system I have seen that has a battery inside the guitar seems to work that way... plugging a cord into the guitar serves as the "On" switch...
