Default Can you help me date this Lemon Grove?

I cant figure out how to post on the forum and I am in the process of trying to get a friend to help me get a link on my website. For now I will email pictures if you think you can help...it has no serial number and no sticker....I was told 1976...but according to Taylor's site only a 1974 would not have serial numbers and there were only like 9 of them that year....

If you want a pic or two my email is:

Wow, that one's new to me. Looks a lot like my 815ce, except it's earlier. Sorry, no clue, with the exception that in 1974, they didn't use serial numbers and I don't think they used labels either. So maybe 1974 isn't a stretch.

Default Dating your Lemon Grove

Do you know if it has a bolt on neck? the sticker would have covered this area. They started using those I believe early in 1976.

That's a keeper if I ever saw one. Have you contacted Taylor on this? I'm sure they could give you a lot more information about this guitar. They would probably also be interested in hearing about one of their 'vintage' models still out there.

Seems like there are a few early jumbos floating around on this board. Here's my 1977 915:

Sorry to ask the obvious, but did you look up on the heelblock for the label? That's where they put the model and serial number until around 1997 or so.

From the look of things, that's an early 915. The 600 series, if it existed, was mahogany back then.

All Taylors have bolt-on necks. There's never been one built with a dovetail or any other kind of glued joint.
