Default FS: Collings OM1

EDIT: I'll knock off $100 and give this another day or two here on the forum before going to plan B (consignment, probably at Mass Street Music). Guitar is now $2400. CONUS shipping and paypal included.

Collings OM1 built in 2011 for sale. $2500 CONUS shipping and Paypal included. 1 11/16" neck. Sitka top with mahogany back and sides. I added a snakewood strap button and a K&K pure mini pickup, but otherwise this is a completely stock OM1 per the Collings website. I'm the original owner, and the guitar is in "as new" condition. Comes with original Collings case.

Very full and rich sounding with the typical Collings focus and clarity. Not really a dark sounding guitar, but it has deeper and more pronounced bass than most mahogany OMs have. I'm primarily a fingerstyle player, but this guitar really shines at flatpicking and fingerpicking.

PM me if you have questions or if you're interested.

I need to sell this guitar so, sorry, but I'm not interested in trades.

So far I've received interest from folks overseas with either minimal or no posting history. I'm not sure how legitimate their interest is.

So here's a bump. $2500 shipped CONUS and paypaled.

I recently purchased a Collings OM1 here in the classifieds and I have to say, it is an amazing guitar that has made me question why I need to keep 4 guitars around -- that good. In fact, I'm trying to figure out how to raise the funds for another Collings OM as we speak.

Best of luck OP on your sale.

As I mention in my original post, this particular Collings sounds richer and less "snappy" than is typical for Collings. It still sounds like a Collings, but with fuller bass and a bit less sparkle on top.

I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be to read descriptions of guitar tone. If I don't put the guitar on consignment later this week, I'll find time to do some recording, so folks who are interested can hear the guitar.

No fret wear to speak of. Just the barest hint. This guitar has mostly stayed in its case during its life.

did you list it here: http://collingsforum.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/55660426

I had good results with an older model OM1.
