Default "Son of a Preacher Man"

My ear has fallen victim to this tune. It seems it is a song you have to be female to do because of the lyrics. Any Guys pull this one off out there? How do you sub the lyrics...thanks as always.

Would you want to sing it as the gay son of a preacher man? Speaking personally I've never pulled it off.

Maybe using "Wife of a preacher man"?

Certainly gives the song a different flavor!

Ya got that one right. What makes it hard is "daughter" has two syllables. you could use "girl" but it just does not ring proper. I am thinking that this is why I do not see any covers on youtube by men on this tune.

I've heard men pull this off, they change it to third person. "the only guy that could ever reach her, he was the son of a preacher man..."

Absolutely brilliant..."Out in the Backyard they go walkin", I get it, very clever. Thank you.
