Strings Suggestions for Composite Acoustics Legacy HG
Well, I have been enjoying my first CF guitar for about a month now. I lowered the action a bit from the factory set up and changed out the Elixir Nano Webs that I didn't care for to Daddario EJ16. Sounds good, but a bit on the Dark Side? The trebles could ring a bit more? This legacy Hi Gloss I am told is a bit warmer than the Raw. I have always been a fan of the Daddario PB or JP PB strings and don't have a lot of experience with other sets. I tried and rejected 80/20's in the past on other guitars. And not a big fan of coated strings. (maybe I should revisit that)
So, I am looking for a little guidance for what strings to try to maybe brighten up the tone. Thanks

I've got 80/20's on my Legacy. I agree--PB's are too dark on that guitar...

You should also try Martin Lifespans. I now use them on all my guitars, including the dozen or so CF guitars I own, including several CA's.

+1 on the 80/20s. I don't use them on any of my other guitars, but I find they are a great fit for my GX. I use John Pearse 0.012s.

I find my composite acoustic less bright than my martin d 35. Like a Steinway vs a Baldwin piano. I think it came with dadarrios and I asked for mediums. Went to martin marquis I've used for 45 years again medium and like them a lot on my gxi. Tried lights because of arthritis. They're brighter but less meaty. I'm going back to marquis medium next time around.

For those who have suggested 80/20's... What brand do you like. I have tried in the past and found they went dead quickly. Maybe things have changed , that was quite awhile ago.

Well, I went to my local music store and they were out of 80/20 strings except for Ernie Ball Earthwood. So, what the heck. Bought a pack 12-54's and strung em up. Played them for about an hour now and sure enough my guitar doesn't sound as dark. I may have lost some volume?, but it does sound brighter and less muddy? I'll have to see how they sound after a few days. And maybe try Daddario or Martin next.
