Default Nylon Pickups for Taylor

I have the option to purchase the Jason Mraz (JMSM) Taylor NS72CE with the ES-N pickups, or I can purchase a build to order guitar with the same specs, except is uses the older "Fishman" Taylor pickups.

I have never played a nylon before in the taylor series and was wondering if anyone could provide me with feed back as to which pickup system they prefer?
The guitar will be going through a Fishman solo amp.

any information would be great.

Thanks

The ES-N is basically the same thing, nothing more special than a UST with an internal preamp. It looks a little more aesthetically pleasing, but that's essentially where the differences end.

I'd just have them build something without any electronics at all, save some change and add something later. I have an NS64ce done that way (even though it was built without the "e," the serial number still contains it).

Default Taylor Nylon Pickup

I had the opportunity to play an NS32 with the ES-N and a NS34 with the Fishman. The Fishman sounded way better than the ES-N. The ES-N was thin and weak sounding. It made the guitar sound like an amplfied ukulele. The only reason I can think of that Taylor changed to the ES-N was to save money. I finally wound up buying a Yamaha NTX1200R, which to my ears sounded alot more natural than either Taylor that I tried.
