Think that's $100 off their normal price, so a decent deal if one is looking for an LP knockoff. Of course the usual problem with Epi's is consistent quality control.

they aint what they used to be..
Last few years the quality and consistency has been vastly improved. they're good options for people who don't have a lot of cash to drop on a decent guitar. |

The coil taps and Gibson pu's are a nice feature. Contrary to the description, I think it comes with a rosewood board.
Too bad I'm not a big LP player... Last edited by guitararmy; 10-13-2015 at 10:46 AM. |

That's a sweet deal, especially with the better Gibson pickups that cost a couple of hundred just on their own when purchased as upgrades.
I played a friend's Epi LP Standard at band practice today, and, you know? They really are pretty good. Through a decent amp the difference between the Epi and a pricey Gibson is fairly minor if you're not fussed about the little cosmetic details. |

My son bought a Tribute Plus this past spring,
he asked me to set it up for him, Once I was done, I plugged it in to my Marshall combo. I was nothing short of stunned at how good this thing played and sounded. Brand new w/case $699. Hard to beat! |

Skip the MIC versions and get a Korean one before the prices go through the roof like the MIJ '80s Squier/Fenders. I've played plenty of Chinese Epis and own an Ultra 339, so I speak from personal experience; while the pickups are scary good the overall quality can be spotty, and they've adopted a fat-D neck profile that is at best an acquired taste, and at worst a set of hand problems in the making (I fall into the latter category - can't play it for more than a half-hour without cramping up). Used to recommend Epis to my students all the time - wouldn't do that anymore...
