I stand corrected. Thought you told me this was your first larger body primavera. Sorry for the misinformation.

I used to live in Coeur d'Alene, ID, just a hop skip and a jump from BC. I am eager enough to fly or drive, but time and money do not allow.

Just to be clear, he would have shipped this week but that would have resulted in a delivery on a day I am not at delivery address and the guitar would have sat in wearhouse. No danger of that happening when shipped on Monday.

Smile Halcyon Guitars

I understand Westcoast Guitars on Hastings St. has a couple of Halcyons coming up pretty quick. 00 and 000 as I recall. They also had about 5 Larrivee's OM 05 D 05 L05 and OM 03 RW.

I can't say enough good about my experience working with Ed. Like each one of my acoustics, I purchased this based on sound clips (in which they sounded great) and owner reviews, so I haven't heard one live/in person yet, but I know it's going to be good. I like the idea of being able to buy one in USA pre made, but with Ed's guidance, it was especially satisfying making choices on tone woods, neck and scale length etc. etc.. He was very informative, knowledgeable and patient with this guitar novice and never made me feel stupid even when I was being dumb. All other things being equal, I'll opt for another custom build from him and suffer the wait to get just what I want, rather than buy pre-made. I'll know for sure in a week, but I'm pretty sure I'll be choosing a Tinker or Halcyon over a Martin or Larrivee (already own a Martin DCPA1 but don't own a Larrivee) which are both excellent brands, but I think Ed takes more time with tuning these woods and necks to get more out of them tonally than those competitors. Most owners seem to feel that the tones of the Halcyons resemble, but improve upon the tone of their inspiration target. Thanks for your interest in my build.

John

Default First impressions:

Played it one weekend so these a very preliminary impressions but ... one word comes to mind: LOUD. This 000 body is hands down a lot louder than my Martin DCPA1. I'd also say, well balanced tonally overall, but the B and high E strings do stand/ring out some to my ear. Visually, it is a stunning guitar. Pics will follow as will sound clips.

Thank you very much Ed Bond !!!!! Love it. !!!
