Default Thoughts on Gibson ES 335 Memphis

I think about them regularly...

don't you you mean the late 60's ES335s?

Yes, it seems most pickguards do have that screw in them. Most Les Pauls do for sure. I never thought much about it before, either..

Yeah, it's funny - I never noticed that the tech put the screw in my 335 Studio p-g when I picked it up from the shop. In fact, I thought the new pickguard install job looked great! Then I got home and noticed all the other 335's didn't have that screw in the pickguard..

But I'm just gonna leave it alone. I could probably "make it right" by ordering another guard and bracket and doing it myself, but I'm not going to worry about it.

I think the p-g looks OK, even though technically it's not "335-correct"..

I have an Epiphone Sheraton, AIUSA and put together in the Gibson factory. The guitar is one of the tale end production models of John Lee Hooker models and he passed before some of them were finished. I also just acquired a 1963 Guild Starfire III, hollow body with humbuckers. Still learning the sounds, love it. Good luck in your search.

Just saw this two days ago on Norm's Rare Guitars GOTD. Mark was showing a cherry red one. It was very nice. Did you buy it?

No, mine was purchased in Denton, TX, it has been played a lot, but I like the tone and for being 55 year old instrument, sounds good to me.
