After the fabulous guitar, my favorite thing about this thread is the tiny square Ted uses to line up his chisel.

The fit and finish on this build is uncanny - looks as close to perfect build quality that one can humanly get.

Ted has been working on the neck....fretboard glued on,neck angle set and checked and come Monday he will begin the neck carving process.
He has sent over some photos of the neck and body together. Along with carving the neck,Ted is going to finish prepping everything before hitting the spray booth Ted's reaction...."Can't wait to get the first layers of lacquer on and see the colours of the Brazilian" Last edited by Scottish0177; 07-11-2017 at 01:31 AM. |

Indeed coming together nicely! I've really enjoyed and admired the quality of everything on this build..., the pictures, the details, the lines and the Brazilian? Forget about it!! Off the charts beautiful. Can't wait to see it get finish either.

This is coming along so well. Such a clean slick look. The contrast of the fretboard and the body is beautiful. Throw me in the bunch waiting to see the woods come alive with the finish!!!

Lots of work goes into getting a guitar with great playability and a perfect setup...A perfectly flat and true fretboard helps and adjustments are then made from that initial and important starting point
The carving of the neck is complete...Ted is going to prepare everything for the finish and come Monday will be pore filling the neck and body...An idea of Ted's was to use a bit of the burl on the neck heel cap Last edited by Scottish0177; 07-11-2017 at 07:38 AM. |

Love the heel cap in the burl...Thats the beauty of having complete faith in the luthier you choose and I know if Ted suggests something then it will either be because it is going to enhance the overall strength, tone, playability or look of the guitar so who am I to argue with that!!! So far floating back brace, burl heel cap and headstock suggestion are his...Ted always gives information and reasoning behind his suggestions too so not just 'because' ideas Take it easy |

A quick photo of the pore filled body.Ted uses CA glue for the pore filling process because he finds that it dries quickly, dries clear and does not sink back like some products can...Ted now has a perfectly flat body ready for starting the spraying process...we will really see what the wood has to show us next week
All the very best everyone, until next time Good health Scott Last edited by Scottish0177; 07-11-2017 at 07:44 AM. |
