Bartlett Mic
Has anyone out there tried the Bartlett Audio mic in there classical guitar? I'm looking for a way to amplify my old Guild Mark 4 and I'd rather not drill any holes in it. Although in the long run it might be easier to install a pickup. The main question is is feedback an issue.

hi
i have owned/used the bartlett guitar pro mic B many friends ended up buying the unit on the strength of hearing mine it is a very natural alternative to a pickup...preferable to a any pick up out there IMO ultra high gain output so unlike most things out there colouration in the mid range so wouldnt describe the sound as transient..but still a good sound a really good product at a great price bruce bartlett is also second to none for customer service i am currently using a dpa 4099g...ultra transient and natural sometimes i use this i combination with either a nuemann km184 or dpa 2011c....stereo, as you would when recording four times the price of the bartlett an exceptional unit and sound the bartletts are very popular amongst flamenco guitarists who cant use pickups due to the techniques they use http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m...ode=&s=#236039 many favorable reviews on the link...use the search engine, many threads on this mic for the price and as a natural alternative to pick up there is nothing comparable...ive used Bband, Fishman, Audio Tecnica and the bartletts are much more natural sound and higher gain structure than either of these IMO good product but yes it will feedback at some point...as a pick up will depends on your performing environment and the production your using i used mine primarily with an AER compact 60 no complaints what so ever the gain structure is similar to any pick up but without that horrible saddle sound... another option is MiniFlex mic systems..another good product but requires insatallation...i'd still go with the Bartlett i dont think you will be dissappointed with the sound, price and application just check the specs as to wether you need 48v phantom or the self powering unit ( which can be hardwired for wireless application) Last edited by AlVal; 10-12-2013 at 09:06 PM. |
