Default Acoustic / Electric Classical Guitar Under $1000

Hello forum,

Im Arthur a new member here from California.

I would like recommendations on a acoustic electric classical guitars under $1000. I currently own and play the Kremona Fiesta and love the deep rich sound but I dont like their NG! piezo pickup add-on.

Thanks for your help.

Cool Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar under $1000?

I would look at the Godin "family" of affordable guitars. La Petrie, although I'm not sure about the electronics type. You could also look at Yamaha, or Takamine, as well. Both are within your price range.

It's as far from a traditional classical as you can get, but I have never heard a more natural sounding plugged in acoustic (nylon or steel) than my Godin Duet Ambiance Grand Concert. It's a Fishman designed system...

So even if that guitar doesn't float your boat (used it is in your price range, new, a little above) I'd say fishman has it going on when it comes to nylon string amplification.

If you are cunning and patient, you can find a used Ramirez RCWE for at or just slightly over that point....

Glen mentioned La Patrie. I have the La Patrie Hybrid and it is by far my favorite acoustic/electric nylon string. The plugged in tone is fantastic!

How does the LaPatrie Hybrid sound unplugged and how is the neck on it?

A yamaha ntx700 or ntx900 is a good option as well and so is the Alvarez.

Default Acoustic / Electric Classical Guitar Under $1000

For what I do the La Patrie Hybrid is the perfect nylon string guitar both acoustically and plugged in. I play a folk/country style mainly with a flat pick.

I have tried many different "crossover" guitars but I wanted something that tended more toward the classical side of things if that makes sense.

The neck is nice and roomy and easy to play and the guitar to me is nicely responsive acoustically.

Pretty much all of my nylon experience has been in the crossover world. I've owned several Taylors, a Goodall, a couple of Martins and a couple of Gibsons (I'm talking about nylon string guitars from these companies.) Certainly not what you would call classical guitars!

So you'll have to take my experience and playing style into account (i.e. I'm not a classical guy at all!) but I really, really like the La Patrie Hybrid!

i owned a La Patrie several years ago
i cant say it had a remotely classical feel
i now own a Ramirez Primera 1a and a Manuel Caceres (my first 5 figured instrument)
this La Patrie has a cedar top and fishman pickup
The top cracked severly after a year..thin cedar.
that was my last electro-acoustic...

Francisco Navarro make great guitars
from Paracho, Mexico...small workshop
beautiful balanced sound with great projection
at a affordable price as well
i'd look at the Ahlambra range but may be above your budget
the Ramirez is probably the best suggestion
again i think if you are using a classical technique and want that sound it wont be available unless you put the money for the guitar first

electronics are easy enough to install or attach
Fishman, B Band, Baggs or K and K make good sytems but ,generally' you are getting the 'saddle' sound only...no dynamics or tone variations with different right hand techniques

DPA make high gain condensors which offer a transient sound no pick up can produce...they really are the best thing out there other than a nuemann km184 which is prone to feedback issues in some performing environments
Cheaper options such as Bartlett or Mini Flex work well
this is only if you want the sound of the actual guitar...

all in all depends on your use of the instrument

just my thoughts, observations and experience
