Default NGD: Hello Rainsong, goodby wood!

Traded my Taylor GC8 and Breedlove Oregon Concert for a Rainsong WS1000 (plus cash left over, so good deal.)

Those lovely woodies had been languishing in their cases since the arrival of the GSmini. With winter and low humidity coming on, I reluctantly let them go, knowing someone else will experience the love they brought me.

And last night, the Rainsong went to a bonfire!

She appears to be from the earlier days of Rainsong, with a 4641 serial number. I had to clean off layers of dust, dirt, and cigarette ash to read the faded label. She's got some well-played finish scratches, with a mojo that suggests she's got plenty of stories to tell. But a lady never talks.

Here she is, enjoying an Ohio autumn afternoon with the mermaids.

A friend of mine use to rep for them back in the HI days. He told stories of delivering guitars to The Band, Pam Tillis and down to the Bahamas for delivery to the Wailers, his RainSong looked like a wooden guitar, but, was CF.

What a rotten job that sounds like - NOT! Ha ha! Thanks for the bit of history.

And Big Thanks for the good wishes, all. Those guitars I traded were so beautiful, but so is the Rainsong. And now I don't have to be so worried about the weather. More bonfires ahead!

Congrats! I'm on the cusp of doing the same thing. I have a couple unused guitars needing to go away and the Rainsong is what I'm looking at.

Congratulations! I added the RS to my collection, so sometimes wood and sometimes carbon. PS - try the Martin Retro/Monel strings on your RS. I really liked what they did for mine.

I love my Rainsong. It's wonderful to travel with the composite. I don't worry about temperature or humidity. It's also great for using altered tunings. The neck is rock solid. The guitar is amazingly light and sounds great plugged in. Fair acoustically.

Congrats on your Rainsong! I purchased a new WS1000N2 about 1 month ago and am enjoying it more every day. Great guitar!

Yo,

Very nice narrative! Thank you. I play nylon string and went through 40-some wooden guitars before I ran into CF. I've now sold all my wooden instrument (other than the ones made within the family), and have settled on an Emerald and a Rainsong.

Congratulations, by the way. I hope this is your guitar in all possible ways.
