Cool Stopping spill from Guitar to vocal mic.

Hello All. I recently had a Fishman matrix affinity pickup system installed in my Alvarez acoustic guitar (model: ??). I first noticed that is has a lot of gain, so I have had to lower the volume on my Amp...But here is my problem/question: I am doing multi-track recordings with Audacity, one at a time. Once I put down the guitar track, I need to use a guitar signal to trigger my TC Helicon harmonizer (I don't like using the 'set key' selection).

So anyone have suggestions on how do I prevent/minimize spill from the guitar feeding into the vocal mic. I do have a ATR-1500 cardoid with pretty good attenuation on the bottom. Should I look at building some kind of acoustic baffle under the Mic??...Is the cardoid pattern enough??

Thanks for any input....MJ

If your guitar track has the chords, you could just route the output from that track to an aux output, and run that to the guitar input of your harmonizer. I don't know Audacity, but it could done easily in Reaper.

Cool Audacity is not Reaper

Sorry...I cant split the tracks like Reaper.....Takign the output and feeding it into the harmonizer did not work, because I did not have a good loud signal, I think.

Still working on it...MJ

All you need is a way to play the guitar track you already recorded and run it your pedal ... if you can't route it your DAW, then just play the WAV on any device that can, and take a line level (or headphone level) signal off that to your pedal. For example:

import the guitar track to your device (phone, ipod, whatever)
connect your device to your pedal (device's line/headphone jack to the guitar input on your pedal)
play the song on the device while recording your vocal/harmony in your DAW

I have nothing constructive to add, but the other day I was recording guitar and my K&K mini inside the guitar was picking up my voice. Whoaaaaaaa!

I stopped singing along. That fixed it.
