3 LL16 (s) I owned all at once, 2 rosewood and 1 mahogany, each was unique, each had their rotating day of dominance over the others, all friends, all keepers but let go during an electric phase.

A cherry red Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion 2.

A '51 Epiphone Triumph Cutaway

A Larrivee J-05v

A Kay Jimmy Reed model from the 50s

Oops...thats four. I still have a bunch of great guitars but those are a few of the good ones that got away.

It’s all fun with no regrets. I’ve had good ones come and go, but I really like the collection I have right now.

I gave a Telecaster I bought to learn how to play, I gave it to my nephew for Christmas because I was out of work and had no money coming in. I didn't get back to guitars for 15 years. He did learn how to play though.

Can't name three as there's only the one, the old FG-180, and maybe that regret is part of why I've kept all the others since.

Mine were electrics; a late 70s Ibanez Artist with super 80 pups and tri-sound switching; another late 70s/early 80s Ibanez Artist, but this one hollow-body, just like the one John Scofield plays. Should not have let either of those go.

The other one that haunts me was actually stolen...a 1957 Les Paul Special that was my one & only guitar at the time it went away.

In this order:
1. SCGC D'03 with Carpathian spruce top and 1 3/4" nut
2. Martin CS D18VMS with red spruce top
3. H&D TDM Prototype (SN:195 if I remember correctly)

Ovation Country Artist. Ovations aren't rare or even great guitars, but this one played well both unplugged and on stage. Until Godin came out with their Multiac nylon, it was the stage nylon-string guitar.

Fender MIJ '57 Strat Re-Issue. Bought it for $250, sold it for $500, would pay a lot more than that to get it back.

Huss and Dalton TD-R. Killer guitar. I didn't like the fact that the nitro finish got sticky in the heat - according to H&D, it was a flaw in the curing....and could have been fixed for about $300 to strip / re-do the lacquer. Traded it straight up for a Taylor W10. Today, the Taylor is worth about $2000. The H&D? A lot more than that. At the time, my playing ability couldn't do it justice. I'm better 18 years later.....but still don't know if I deserve a guitar like this one.

Interesting as I had a custom built DS-12 built for me by H&D and the finish never hardened. I eventually traded it back to the dealer losing a couple of thousand in the process but there was a lot more that just the finish that was wrong with it. What stung for me is they would simply not communicate with me about their product referring me back to the attentive and frustrated dealer. I have a Santa Cruz version now.

Hey Silly, speaking of Santa Cruz, that's the only guitar I regret selling..
my 1929 000.
That is the only one I look back and wonder about.
What was I thinking?
I have a Martin Custom Shop equivalent, and it's wonderful!!
But sure wish I'd kept that Santa Cruz 1929 000.

Just one, a late 90s OO sized Guild a-25.
Really sweet guitar, wish she was still around.

No regerts...um, regrets, over anything sold. But I do regret a fair number that I purchased.

I really paid too much attention to how they looked. Not that tone wasn’t important, but..blame it on inexperience.
