Default Emerald X20 woody

Hi Guys,
I've been lurking on this site for quite a while as I was looking for a CF guitar.
The reason for wanting a CF was that I am a permanent traveler in Australia and I had been gigging in the outback, the humidity was zero and both my 6 string and my baritone developed strange traits of buzzing, necks twisting and making them both unplayable.
Anyhoo, after doing much research I finally pulled the pin and ordered an X20 woody with a slotted headstock. This was after much discussion and guidance by Sean at Emerald.
I have owned many high end guitars but never paid this much money for an instrument I had not played before, US$vAussie$.
The guitar arrived last Monday. Firstly a complaint, the photo's of these guitars no way does justice to the true depth of the colour. The initial impression was stunning...It seemed as if you could dive into the colour.
I believe the guitars are set up pretty generically unless you state what you want, which I didn't. So I played it and was blown away by the tone and the projection. After a couple of days I restrung with lighter strings (My preference) and took about 2mm from the bridge.
What I have now is the guitar I dreamed of, great tone, great projection and it plays as smooth as butter...Not forgetting it's really cool looking also.
So those are my thoughts. I was actually so impressed I've just put the initial deposit down on a 8 string Baritone.
Also the service and communication I received from Sean was second to none. If you are thinking of an Emerald drop him an email.

Another satisifed Emerald customer...no surprise there. Welcome to the forum, TWISS...greetings from Canada! Congrats on the no-worry X20 and the future baritone.

As for posting pics, you’ll either have to upload to a third party hosting site like Flickr or Imgur, then insert the URLs between placeholders. Or...you can join the AGF as a charter member for $25/year and upload directly. There are some benefits beyond photo hosting which you can read about of you like.

Welcome and great first post!! And welcome to Club X-20 (soon I guess). That slotted headstock is a piece of artwork. If it helps I'll play mine now but the regular headstock if that's ok.

I'd upload photo's but for some reason I'm not being allowed to.

Congratulations Twiss! Another deposit down? Awesome!
We'd love to see a custom woody with a slotted head.

Congratulations! Good to see another fellow Aussie in the forum. If I am getting a second Emerald, a slotted headstock will be on my list of custom.

Just how big are the slots? I can't see the rest of the guitar!

Seriously though- congrats on your new Emerald. Kinda glad I've not got my paws on one yet, would likely be an excuse to buy yet another guitar.

Beautiful guitar. Congrats again! Imo, the Emerald slotted headstock design is the nicest there is.

The depth in that red quilted woody looks like you could reach right into it - very striking, and that slotted headstock is gorgeous! Congrats again!
