Bright tone strings
What's the most bright (and quite long lasting) strings you have tried?
Need to do some experiments |

John Pearse 80/20s come recommended. 80/20s in general will give you a bright tone

GHS Signature Bronze are bright or you can move up to their Bright Bronze which are 80-20's. They also say their "Contact Core" Bright Bronze are even brighter.

good chart Bruce - yeah - the % Zinc content in the wrap wire that many makers get supplied with creates a bright metallic tone - ok for a dull guitar but deffo a no no for a well designed instrument.

Thanks for reply
I was wondering if 80/20 have a short life. I mean shorter that a non coated Phosphor bronze set. |

I would suggest you might consider the Elixir 80-20 Nanowebs as well for longevity and brightness. Clear tones are pretty bright as well in the coated string category and so are Martin Lifespan SP's. I like the way the Martins ring.

Wipe your strings with a lint free cloth after every use. They will last a lot longer. It's the acid in skin oils/sweat that destroy strings.
