I've attached this link which includes appraisals of Allison guitars from other Forum members. As you can see, Allison guitars compare very favorably to Collings, Bourgeois, Martin and Santa Cruz.

Gorgeous guitar!
What is the fretboard radius? Do you know the size of the fretwire?
Good luck with your sale.
Ed

Dear Ed in Ohio

I hope this information will convince you to buy the guitar!

Per John Allison:

Upshot of it is that the fingerboard was machined and sanded to a compound radius (12”-14”). When it requires a re-fret, It can be sanded to a straight 14” radius with no problem. We subsequently went to a straight 14” radius on all fingerboards.

The fret wire would have been Stew-Mac wire No. 141.

Beautiful pics of a beautiful guitar! I've played a couple of John's guitars and they're outstanding. I talked extensively with him last year when he did a full neck reset on a vintage guitar I bought in Austin. I was very impressed… good guy, good builder. Good luck!

Wink

How would you describe the neck shape on this one? And do you know if John uses adi for the braces? Thanks,
Steve

Confirmed with John today- yes, Adi braces.
I'd describe the neck shape as a shallow Modified C.
I measure 15/16" from fretboard to back of neck at the 5th fret.
Hope that helps.
