Default BUILD THREAD: Greenfield G2

Hi Gang -

Several inquiring minds want to know so here are the specs and details around my forthcoming Greenfield.

Here are a sample of Michael's prior G2's to give the idea of what she'll look like:

How do Greenfield guitars sound? Well the ones I've played kinda sound like this (really amazing and resonant guitars as you can get a sense of in these vids):

Will post more pix as she gets underway shortly after the Montreal Guitar Expo where Michael will be exhibiting.

Enjoy!

That BRW back set has some real character - very nice. I love the contrasting dark and light.

Congrats and thanks much for posting. This will be fun!

WOOHOOOO!!

I just love how his bevel, rosette and impedance matched bridge tie in together visually.

Quote:
• 13/4” nut width
• 21/4” string spacing at bridge.
Those are some HUGE hands you have

690,

That will be an awesome guitar. Also, the company you work for, are they hiring? Thanks!

Great stuff. Our Macassar ebony/lutz G4 Fan-fret just arrived. Once again the ceiling has become the floor. It's incredible!

Thanks guys! I'll certainly post em. The build is starting today so as busy as he is I'm sure Michael will try and get some pictures to me, which I will in turn share of course. Adi selection is happening shortly.

Awesome Michael - the G4 sounds incredible. Haven't been able to play one yet but the Andy Mckee clips sound killer!

Ditto on that. So many "Braz" guitars these days seem to be full of whirls, and swirls, and sapwood...stump wood...rift sawn. I am just way too "symmetrical" to go for the "Braz-on-LSD" look. Well-quartered, bookmatched would be my choice, and only choice. I know any number of builders here have said the wild-figured stuff *may* be just as stable-but I am just not convinced. If I were to pay that kind of upcharge, I'd want it to look just like these pix.

Very nice! I like the look of that braz, nice a even, just the way it should be.

So since we have alot of talk about nut widths, what kind of neck profile are you going to have on this one? Slim V or slight C shape? or something different?

It'll be a slight C shape. Slightly thicker than a Ryan or Olson but a hair thinner than a Goodall.
