Zebra pickups anyone?
I love the look of zebra humbuckers, especially on a Les Paul. For those who don't know, zebras are pickups that don't have a pickup cover on and the colors of the bobbins are black and white/cream. It's not a brand name.
I realize this is just aesthetics but do you prefer your pickups covered, uncovered, colored (DiMarzio has some wild color options)? |

Me too.
While mostly an acoustic player, I've owned four vintage Gibsons (56,67,80,81, 12) and my favorite electric guitar (the one I played the most of all my guitars) is a Gibson Sonex 180 Custom. That guitar is an odd poor man's Les Paul with a special resin type body, but fantastic electronics, including zebra dirty finger pickups (only the Custom had the good electronics). I absolutely LOVE the look of these. In fact I was going to trade the all black on my Les Paul for these but traded the whole guitar out instead.

i love my 335 and les paul just the way they are.. .with the covers on. i've read the stories about how some people feel they sound better with the covers off and how some feel they sound better with the covers on. i guess i'm just too lazy to take the covers off to see! ha!
play music!
