Phil, I think we learned that even a thread as dodgy as this one can sometimes run 11 pages before the inevitable lock-down.

Well I beefed up my security with regards to my credit and debit cards, only going to carry two cards instead a bunch... I also updated my records to include copies of all credit and debit card numbers, exp dates, security codes and customer service phone numbers for each card...

Locked up my cards I'm not using, and my checks too.

Keeping my truck locked

Deadbolting my door before bed...

Keeping my screen door locked at all times

Changed my pin numbers for computer and debit cards

These are all simple precautions which make me feel much safer.

Sorry, ... too soon?

If she was getting kicked out of your neighbors house, I would have at least consulted with them before you let her in yours. If there was drama involved, they would have probably warned you to stay clear.

However, the real issue here is that you probably didn't care because you "liked" her, which probably means that you were attracted to her, which probably means that you wanted to sleep with her.

If that was the case, all bets are off because you weren't thinking with the right head. We've all been there, so I'm not judging. You had to see it through, took the gamble, and lost.

I met a girl at a gig once. Sparks right away. We were going to hang out, but she couldn't get a car to borrow to meet up with me. Minor issue, but noteworthy.

A couple failed attempts at a hang, and I bailed. Saw on her facebook a few months later that she was pregnant. So much drama in her life. Not sure what happened, but she never had the kid.

She was hot. Didn't look like Janis Joplin at all.

Stay away from this girl.

This girl I met looked very much like her, and was also messed up like Janis. It was a chance for me to get to know a Janis re-incarnation of sorts. It was a very interesting time that I won't soon forget, there was good times and bad times. I had been very sick for a long time and felt as though I was coming back to life again. I was making a recovery, a comeback if you will....maybe I'm just an old fool, but for a while, it was a fun fling. I felt blessed to be able to spend some time with her, while feeling sorry for the old guys at the senior center who didn't get to hang out with her. Good or bad, it was an incredible experience.
None of this sounds healthy.

It sounds like the OP needs to obsess on a better muse and not assume that he can shine a turd that happens to look like her.

Even still, you have to have higher standards for your obsessions. For example, this one is easy on the eyes but I understand that she's quite high maintenance:

Of course, the heart always wants what it wuh wuh wuh wants...

Yeesh. Such a pretty face but apparently some little boy stomped on her heart. Personally, I'm not into cradle robbing - and my wife would have a real problem with it. I'll share my own obsession though:

I know. Some of those notes just go right through me, but to some may sound like this:

But I digress. My point is that you CAN'T go off first impressions and completely drop your guard. Maybe you should just get a dog.

I'm doing okay, my psychiatrist put me on some new medicine to help with anxiety...other than that no news to report...she's not talking to anybody. Cops haven't said a word...

My prescription sunglasses are missing, I know she was wearing them and liked them, so I had to order a new pair.

Good to hear mm. Get the support you need and try to see this as a big learning experience and move forward. Protect yourself as so many have suggested. Thank your lucky stars this wasn't a divorce. Half of your guitars would be gone.
